COOKIE POLICY

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies BarberBoost uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. By using BarberBoost, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy.

Last updated: 26 April 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website or use a web application. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and function correctly across pages and sessions.

Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remaining on your device for a set period or until manually deleted). They may be set by us ("first-party") or by our service providers ("third-party").

We also use similar technologies including local storage (browser-side data storage for keeping you logged in) and pixels/web beacons in transactional emails (to track email opens for delivery confirmation).

2. Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Keep you authenticated and securely logged in to your account
  • Protect your account and our platform from cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and session hijacking attacks
  • Remember your preferences, such as your last-used view or filter settings
  • Process payments securely through Stripe's fraud detection systems
  • Collect anonymised usage statistics to understand how the platform is used and where we can improve it

We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural tracking, or the sale of data to third parties. We do not use third-party advertising networks.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential

These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. They enable core features like logging in, maintaining your session, and securing your account. The platform cannot function properly without them. These cookies do not require your consent.

Functional

These cookies remember your choices and preferences to provide a more personalised experience — for example, remembering which calendar view you last used. Disabling them may affect your experience but will not prevent core functionality.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregated information about how visitors use the platform — such as which pages are most visited and how people navigate the site. No personally identifiable information is collected. This helps us understand usage patterns and improve the service.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party services we integrate with. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies:

StripeSets cookies for payment security, fraud prevention, and checkout flow management.
SupabaseSets authentication session cookies to securely manage your login state.
VercelSets an anonymous analytics identifier to collect aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics.

6. Managing Cookies

Essential cookies cannot be disabled without breaking core platform functionality such as authentication and payment processing.

Functional and analytics cookies can be managed through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View and delete cookies currently stored on your device
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block all cookies (note: this will prevent you from logging in)
  • Set preferences per website

Browser-specific instructions for managing cookies:

To opt out of Vercel Analytics, you can enable the Do Not Track (DNT) browser setting. Vercel Analytics respects the DNT header.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of significant changes via email or by displaying a notice in the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made.
